Here is a summary of Jay's career so far.
Jason Reso (Christian) met Adam Copeland (Edge) in the 5th grade and the two became best friends. They later went on to go to the same college together and became roomates. Edge won an essay writing contest and was given free wrestling training. After he starts training he finally convinces Jason to start too.
Jason starts training with Ron Hutchison at Sully's Gym in Toronto in 1994.
From there, he works in many different indy federations. He and Adam wrestled as a tag team many times, under the names High Impact and the Suicide Blondes. After Adam got his contract with the WWF, he recommended Jay to WWF officials. Jay entered the WWF training camp in mid-1998, and was signed to a WWF contract in August of 1998. He was first seen on television at Breakdown in September of 1998, when he appeared at ringside during a match between Edge and Owen Hart.
His ring debut occured a month later, at October's Judgement Day, where he was accompanied by Gangrel. He managed to upset Taka Michinoku, thus winning the Light Heavyweight title.
During this time, Adam was wrestling as a single. Then, Gangrel begins coming to the ring with Christian, who is later revealed as Edge's younger brother. Christian is dressed similar to Gangrel, both wearing those oversized white poet shirts. Edge of course is confused. Gangrel and Christian end up beating up Edge and leaving. Jim Ross is sure that Gangrel has Christian under some kind of spell, but this too is never explained. Finally during a match that pits Gangrel againist Kane the trio are united. Only when Christian and Gangrel are both held in poistion for a chokeslam by Kane, Edge runs out and stops it but knocking Kane off his feet with a blow to his knee. The next time they appear together they are The Brood.
In November of 1998, Christian loses the Light Heavyweight title to Duane Gill (with help from the JOB Squad).
Before every match, The Brood would rise up through the stage in a ring of a fire and go to the ring where Edge & Christian would stand on the ropes while Gangrel would stand beneath them drinking from a gothic looking chalice and then spewing "a red liquid" unto the audience.
The Brood later joins The Ministry of Darkness under the lead of The Undertaker. At this time the McMahon's also had a group called the Corporation and these two groups had numerous matches. The Brood ended up leaving the Ministry when Christian was forced by Ken Shamrock ( a coporate member) to give up the location of CEO Vince McMahon's daughter, Stephanie, who had been kidnapped by the Ministry, when Christian was put into the dreaded anklelock. Undertaker was furious and thought Christian to be a weak link and decided to sacrifice him. Edge and Gangrel end up saving him and thus being kicked out of the ministry. Later on Edge and Gangrel get into a fight and Christian is forced to choose between them. He chooses his brother Edge.
The brothers go on to form a "face" (good guys) tag team. They have a break through match with the Hardy Boyz at No Mercy '99 where they compete in the Terri Invitational Ladder Match. Even though they lose, they earn a great deal of respect from the fans and their peers. Christian and Edge turn "heel" (bad guys) right before Wrestlemania 2000 and go on to win the WWF Tag Team Championship for the first time in a Triangle Ladder Match againist the Hardyz and Dudleyz. Edge and Christian throughout their career as a Tag Team end up holding the belt seven times, and more then any tag team in history. Throughout this they reveal 5 second poses, create a new dialect, such as "This website totally reeks of awesomeness," and reinvent cheap heel heat by insulting every sports team in the nation.
Their partnership begins to crumble during the King of the Ring 2001. Both brothers want desperately to win, but Edge is crowned. Christian hides his disapointment by carrying around Edge's trophy telling his brother it's great that they won. At Summerslam 2001, Edge wins singles gold in the form of the WWF IC championship. Christian still seems cool about his brother's success, giving Edge a hug after he won.
It isn't until Christian loses to the Rock in a match for the WCW Championship that Christian cracks. Later that night after Edge successfully defends his title against Lance Storm, Christian cracks Edge over the head with a steel chair. Christian begins screaming at Edge that it's Edge's fault. Christian hits Edge with the King of the Ring trophy and then gives him the one-man conchairto which connects with the back of Edge's head. The next night on Smackdown, Christian tells the crowd he had to do what he did because Edge is jealous of him. That Edge steals his spotlight everytime he can. Christian tells everyone, "It's always been Edge and Christian. E&C. Edge and his brother! Well why do you always get to go first Edge? What makes you so damn special?" Christian later challenges and then wins the WWF IC belt from Edge at Unforgiven 2001. He later loses the belt back from Edge at No Mercy 2001 in a grueling ladder match.
Edge is now the face and Christian is the heel. Christian was also recuited by the WCW/ECW Alliance. He became the WWF European Champison after defeating Bradshaw in an unaired match on 10/30/01. He just recently lost the title to Diamond Dallas Page.
Rumors fly around about a reunion between him and his long time tag partner Edge. Could a 8th run as WWF Tag Team Champions be in the near future?
